What to check before choosing
Check the luggage opening
A saloon boot can have a different opening from a hatchback or estate even when the car is large. Ask for a boot video and check your usual luggage or mobility equipment against the opening, not just the external dimensions.
Try the rear cabin and parking fit
Check rear legroom, headroom and entry with the people who will use the car. Measure your parking space and inspect visibility and any parking equipment actually fitted. Do not infer features from the trim name.
Compare the powertrain and ownership costs

Inspect evidence as well as appearance
